Judas Priest is preparing to release a cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” featuring a duet with the late Ozzy Osbourne, recorded before his death in July. During a recent appearance on the Full Metal Jackie podcast, Priest frontman Rob Halford described the collaborative process. “Ozzy’s singing a line and then I’m singing a line,” Halford said. “It’s the first ever time in my entire life that I’ve been able to do a duet with Ozzy and I’m so eternally grateful and blessed that I was able to do that.” Halford credits Sharon Osbourne for initiating the project after hearing Judas Priest cover the song live. “She approached me with this idea,” Halford recalled. “She said, ‘I love your version of War Pigs. Is there a way we can get Ozzy?’ I was [like], ‘You’re asking me? This is gonna happen!’” Although no official release date has been set, Halford says the track is nearly ready and promises, “When you hear it, it’s just colossal.” (Rolling Stone)
