Wreaths Across Chattanooga: Honoring Our Veterans, One Wreath at a Time
Every December, thousands of volunteers gather at Chattanooga National Cemetery for a powerful tradition that ensures our nation’s heroes are never forgotten.
Wreaths Across Chattanooga is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the men and women who served our country by placing remembrance wreaths on every veteran’s grave at the cemetery.
Each wreath laid is more than a holiday decoration — it is a personal act of gratitude from our community to those who sacrificed for our freedom.
Their Mission: Remember, Honor, Teach
Remember
We remember the brave men and women who served our nation and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.
Honor
We honor veterans by placing wreaths on their graves and recognizing their service with dignity and respect.
Teach
We teach younger generations about the true cost of freedom and the importance of service through hands-on participation and community involvement.
How You Can Help
Wreaths Across Chattanooga depends entirely on the support of local businesses, families, schools, and volunteers. There are several ways to get involved:
- Sponsor a wreath for a veteran’s grave
- Volunteer during wreath placement in December
- Spread the word to friends and family
- Support educational efforts that preserve veterans’ stories
Why It Matters
When you walk through Chattanooga National Cemetery and see thousands of wreaths resting on the graves of veterans, it is a moving reminder that these men and women are remembered and appreciated.
