First Official ‘TRON: Ares’ Trailer Features New Music By Nine Inch Nails

The first official trailer for TRON: Ares, a sequel to the 1982 TRON and 2012’s TRON: Legacy, was released on Saturday. The film features an original score by Nine Inch Nails, with the Grammy and Oscar-winning duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross officially composing the movie’s soundtrack. A brief clip of NIN’s music is featured in the trailer, with this project marking the band’s first proper release in five years, and comes ahead of their highly-anticipated 2025 Peel It Back Tour. The movie stars Jared Leto as Ares, alongside a supporting cast including Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, and Jeff Bridges, who also appeared in both of the previous TRON films. The film is directed by Joachim Rønning, and is set for theatrical release on October 10, 2025. (Consequence of Sound)
