Shane Hawkins Plays His Father’s Favorite Foo Fighters Song During Drum Clinic In England

At a drum clinic in England, Shane Hawkins, son of the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, revealed that his father’s favorite song to play with the band was actually “Low” from the album One by One, despite the commonly held belief that it was “Aurora.” Shane performed the drum parts for “Low” in honor of his dad during the clinic, which took place at The Dead Famous, a cocktail bar in Newquay, England, on Thursday (May 29th). While behind the kit, Hawkins shared this info about his dad with the crowd, “People say that song ‘Aurora’ was his favorite to play, but that’s a lie.” Hawkins also recently announced that he will be taking part in a US tour this summer with Taylor’s old covers band Chevy Metal, with the run of shows set to begin on July 19 in Denver. Speculation continues to swirl about Shane potentially joining Foo Fighters as their next drummer, as the band has yet to make any official announcements regarding a replacement for Josh Freese, who was ousted from the group last month.
