Ghost Scores Their Initial No. 1 Album On Billboard 200 With ‘Skeletá,’ First Hard Rock Album To Top Chart In Over Four Years

Ghost reaches the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart for the first time in their career, as the Swedish hard rock band’s new record, Skeletá, debuts at No. 1 this week. Skeletá is the first hard rock album to lead the Billboard 200 in over four years (since AC/DC’s Power Up in 2020), and marks the ninth time the group has charted on the Billboard 200, reaching a previous high of No. 2 with 2022’s Impera. Ghost claims the biggest week of 2025 for any rock, hard rock, or alternative album, while the vinyl sales of over 44,000 represent the biggest week for a hard rock album on vinyl in the modern era (since 1991).

The rest of the Billboard 200 Top 10 is rounded out by SZA’s SOS dropping one slot to No. 2, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX falls a spot to No. 3, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time slides down one place to No. 4, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet drops a spot to No. 5, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U falls one slot to No. 6, Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos slides a spot to No. 7, Shaboozey’s Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going vaults up 37 places to No. 8 following a deluxe reissue on April 25, Playboi Carti’s MUSIC falls two spots to No. 9, and Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album drops a slot to No. 10.
