Iggy Pop, Jack White, Sex Pistols To Headline CBGB Festival

The inaugural CBGB Festival is set to take place at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn on September 27, and will be headlined by Iggy Pop, Jack White, and the Sex Pistols. The event will feature 21 bands performing across three stages – including Iggy’s first New York City show in over a decade – with other noteworthy acts on the lineup including Johnny Marr, Lunachicks, Marky Ramone, the Damned, Melvins, Gorilla Biscuits, Murphy’s Law, Cro-Mags, the Linda Lindas, Lambrini Girls, Scowl, and more. Presale for the festival starts on Thursday (May 15), and general on-sale begins on Friday (May 16), with special “Young Punk” discounted tickets offered to New York residents under 25. The festival pays homage to the legendary Bowery music venue, CBGB, which was opened by founder Hilly Kristal in 1973, with the club hosting iconic musicians like the Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Television, and more, before closing  in 2006 with a famous final show by Patti Smith.
