Peter Murphy Cancels Entire Summer Tour Due To “Recent Health Issues”

On Monday (June 2), Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy announced that he has to cancel his summer tour dates due to undisclosed “recent health issues.” The cancelled shows were in support of Murphy’s latest solo album, Silver Shade, which was released on May 9, and features collaborations with Trent Reznor, Boy George, and Tool’s Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor. “It is with regret that, due to recent health issues, I will be unable to perform for you this summer.  I am very much saddened by this news,” Murphy writes. “This situation is hopefully temporary, and we will be able to announce shows in support of Silver Shade at some point in the near future. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.” The 67-year-old goth rock legend has faced multiple health challenges in recent years, including a 2019 heart attack that forced him to postpone his residency at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge, and a variety of unexpected medical procedures that cancelled his scheduled tour plans in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
