The Black Keys’ “The Night Before” Reaches No. 1 On Alternative Airplay Chart

The Black Keys‘ track “The Night Before” claims the top spot on the Alternative Airplay chart this week. This marks the Ohio-based garage rock duo’s eighth No. 1 single of their career, tying them with U2 and Weezer for the seventh most No. 1s of all time. The Black Keys notched their first No. 1 since “Beautiful People (Stay High)” led for two weeks in March 2024, with the duo first topping the Alternative Airplay in 2010-11 with “Tighten Up.” The band’s other No. 1s were “Wild Child” (2022), “Lo/Hi” (2019), “Fever” (2014), “Gold on the Ceiling” (2012), and “Lonely Boy” (2011-12). “The Night Before” is the lead single from their upcoming album, No Rain, No Flowers, though no official release date for that record has been confirmed as of yet. The track previously spent three weeks at No. 1 on Adult Alternative Airplay and currently sits at No. 3 on the list, while also holding the No. 6 spot on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart.
